At Sparks Overland, we’ve always been focused on building and sourcing gear that performs in the toughest conditions. When we first launched our portable heater systems, we started out using Belief heaters. They worked, but after a lot of nights in the mountains and conversations with customers, we knew we needed something better.
That’s when we made the switch to Velit heaters—and the difference has been clear from day one.
Altitude Performance
For anyone who camps or travels in the mountains, heater performance at elevation is a make-or-break feature. Belief heaters struggled once we got higher up. Velit, on the other hand, is engineered to handle altitude far more effectively. That reliability makes a big difference when you’re camped out above 8,000 feet and temperatures dip well below freezing.
Fuel Options
Another major upgrade was fuel flexibility. Belief offered diesel only, which works fine for some rigs but not all. Velit gives us a true gasoline option alongside diesel, which means more versatility across different vehicle platforms. Whether you’re running a Tacoma, Jeep Gladiator, or a diesel Sprinter van, Velit provides a solution that adapts to your setup.
Noise Reduction
One of the most common complaints we heard about older Belief units was pump noise. The fuel pump had a distinct ticking sound that was hard to ignore when you’re trying to sleep a couple of feet away. Velit redesigned this system with noise reduction in mind, and the result is a much quieter operation. That translates directly into a more comfortable night’s rest.
The Bottom Line
At the end of the day, our goal is simple: create the most reliable, versatile, and comfortable heating solutions possible for people who push into demanding environments. Velit gave us the improvements we were looking for—better performance at altitude, more fuel options, and a quieter design.
That’s why every Sparks Overland portable heater you see today is powered by Velit.
